Nestled between the Vardar River and the administrative and cultural fragment of the city Center. This location is renowned for its administrative and cultural significance known for the iconic MKC building, as a symbol of cultural and social vitality that has witnessed countless events and gatherings. Today the place retains its peaceful atmosphere, serving as a connector between people and their workspace here, living only in a certain period of time in a day. However, its potential as a vibrant, thriving hub is palpable due to its proximity to the city center and its enchanting riverfront views.
In a bid to reinvigorate this dynamic urban space, we propose a thoughtful intervention along the riverfront street, one that preserves its historical significance while ushering in a new era of vitality and purpose. Our vision is to enhance this area by adding strips of color, symbolizing a transition from the past to the future. These colorful strips will be woven into the fabric of the street, seamlessly integrating with the surroundings.
Horizontally, we divide the street into two distinct zones, each serving a unique purpose, while preserving the essence of the cultural and administrative institutions that define the area.
The first section of the street, adjacent to the iconic MKC building, is envisioned as a vibrant cultural and social space. Here, the streetscape will be designed to attract people, providing an inviting and interactive environment.
From here start three strips that move longitudinally along the street. One of the strips rises vertically, forming different spaces for socializing and experiencing the space. Part of it are benches for sitting, places to play and climb, a bar for interaction as well as a lookout point that opens perspectives to the river and the opposite side.
